Ferrari is showing off the 562 horsepower car with improvements to fuel consumption and CO2 emissions that, they say, sets “the benchmark in this segment.” Using a mid-rear mounted 4.5-liter V8 engine, the 458 goes from 0-100 km/h in under 3.4 seconds on its way to a top speed of 325 km/h. The driver controls the engine with the Getrag F1 transmission, a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. It has a 407 hp to tonne power-to-weight ratio, with a dry weight of about 1380 kg.

Indeed I am a dickhead, I’m known for it almost worldwide. My point being that the Veyron is a million dollar plus grand tourer aimed at the wealthiest of the wealthy, designed the sole purpose of breaking the top speed barriers, and exercising the automotive engineering muscles to a point they had never reached in the past.
The Ferrari 458 is an ultralite, hardcore, entry level sports car in the exotic realm. It costs less than half of the Veyron, they have almost nothing in common.

how can you even compare the 459 to the veyron, two completely different cars with different buyers for different purposes. I’m just gonna guess that you arent old enough to drive and are still a virgin.

@ecotts If ferrari wanted to make a car faster than the veyron they could do it with ease. You have to remember that each veyron is sold at a loss so building a car like that isnt a wise bussiness move especially in the current economy.

The top speed does not make a machine better than the other! What makes a car better than the history and mechanics .. .. the prestige! And no machine built in this world is above the Ferrari remember! I’ll think your find the Bugatti Veyron is the best. You can run this Ferrari top speed and the Veyron would pull away so fast you would think its got a rocket in its tail pipe.
